A few days ago I wrote an article on how metaverse has the potential to change utility business forever. I tried to further delve in this matter and soon stumbled upon GMetri – a metaverse platform which requires no code to build. Its simplicity struck a chord and soon enough I set on to build a substation walkthrough in Metaverse – on GMertri.
How I built the substation walkthrough in Metaverse
The entire model took 2 evenings to build. The model of a 33/11 kV substation was available on sketchfab. For the uninitiated, sketchfab is a collaborative platform for digital 3d models of different objects. I found a free model which wasn’t too tacky. Importing the model to GMetri was a breeze.
From there on, I added the robots and voice over. Rest of the logic was easy to incorporate through drop downs. The interface is pretty intuitive.
